We repaired the damage we found which was two bent wheels, one ripped tire, one bent tie rod. The fiberglass nose was beyond repair and we did not have a new one so we installed a screen to protect the radiator from rocks and chunks of rubber and covered the front of the fenders with sheet metal. However after hot lapping we found more hidden damage, the steering rack and the mounting bracket for the right lower a-frame. I could not steer the conners with any speed. I timed 11 out of 12 cars, I did not run the heat and started in the back of the main where I finshed 11 out of 12. But it was the first main I finished in the last four races. I fell to 8 place one point out of seventh and less than ten out of sixth. Next race Sep. 11th.

Friday the 13th a bad day for the superstitious. I am not one of them but with the things that happened I may become one. First when signing in I found out that my new GOLD CARD does not cover when I race I still have to pay. Second I was leading the heat by a big margin when they blacked flagged me for smoking it would have been my first win in years. The trans.seal was leaking again but we put a new one in and started the main. Third I lost my new tires a awile back and the spares were just not as good, I pushed real bad coming out of turn 4 and hit the wall bounced into another car hit the wall again and ended up by the flag stand. The left front tire and wheel are flat and bent respectively. The new nose is shattered, there is other cosmetic damage but the radiator and the frame seems to be okay. At least I was still upright when I stopped instead of upside down like the last I wrecked this bad out of 4. Next race Aug. 28th. I will be there will you ?

July 30th 2010
The weather was hot, JC and Mike both had to work so I went out alone. I left at 12:30 got to the track by 1:00 there were already over twenty supers there with them parked in my usual spot. There was a light pole still open down in the cheap sit area so I parked by it and waited for the boys to show up. When the hobbys started to arrive I saved a place close to the pole for Gerald I new he would want the electricity. When the boys arrived we ckecked the car out and unloaded, because it was a big superstock show we and the earlystocks got to hot lap between 5 and 5:30 together. It was okay for me because the car was working real good, I timed in 7th out of 14 and my fastest time this year. I started the fast heat on the pole and finished 6 out of 7. In the main my right front tire was cut and I had to have JC and Mike change it. I finished 13 out of 14. Another bad main but a good night never the less I am improving and Gerald won the fast heat. We will be at it again August 28th unless they add a rain make up race before then. See you then.

July 17th 2010
When we arrived at the track the temp. was 84 degrees, the track was slippery from the heat. I waited as long as I could for the track to cool off. Went out to hot at 5:30 the car felt really stable and I was able to get back on the throttle much sooner than the last time. After only three laps the right front tire went flat, I guess it was damaged in the wreck anyway JC and my crew changed the tire and said my times were good so I waited in the car for time trials. I was 7th fast out of thirteen cars, finished 3rd in my heat. When we went out for the main they stopped us at the flag stand and asked for Billy Swift and I to get out of our cars. The owners of the track Joe and Walt presented both of us a Gold card it allows to get into the races for free for our lifetime. Because of our longivity of racing at thier track and even before they owned the track they said we deserved it. I agree. My car started leaking transmission grease and I had to leave the track early and finished last. I have finished last before in my career and it is never a good thing. My next race is on Friday the 31st.

June 19th 2010
It was a very warm day for racing, just short of hot. It was a good day I timed in my fastest time of the year but we had two new cars and I ended up 8th fast out of 13 cars. I was just fast enough to qualify as the fastest car in the b-dash. Unfortunatly the other three cars were very close to the same time and I was unable move up in only 4 laps. I was able to finsh 4th in my heat race and 5th in the main which moved me into 6th place in points. My heat race was uneventful but the A heat race was different, the No. 3 ( Trevan Tarr ) car lost an axle taking the 47 ( Gerald Nash )and him out for the night. The main would have been uneventful had the new No. 7 ( Dave Phillips ) car had not overheated and spun out hitting me. The damage was not enough to cause me to quit but it did affect my steering. A few laps later while passing the No. 63 ( Wil Marley ) car I slid up and into it causing a small amount of addiction damage to my car and tearing the nose and front bumper off of the 63. I was still able to finish 5th. Both JC and I race next on July 17th.

June 5th 2010
The Hobbies next race is June 19th not June 12th as ealier reported. No race make up has been given as yet.

June 5th 2010
Make that July 17th for Hobbies and Streets. Bad typing or fat fingers or both, your call.

June 5th 2010
Correction, The hobbies next race is the June 19th unless Joe gives us a rain make up. Hobbies and Streets will race on July 19th.

May 28th 2010
We worked on changing the rear springs on JC's car and resetting the weight. Got it loaded up and then got rained out. My car needed a little bit of adjustments we got that done too but to no avail. This year appears to be a wet one. My next race is June 12th if it does not rain, JC's next race is in July.

May 22nd 2010
We left the house at 1:30 PM, while traveling to the track we ran into a bad down pour of rain and slush. Thinking it was not at the track yet we proceeded. We were right, getting to the track with fair but a little windy conditions. We did not unload for two hours waiting to see how the weather turned out. It turned out to be a cold but very fruitful night. I was 8th fast with my fastest time so for this year, I managed a 2nd in my heat and 7th in the main. I am still having trouble with my right ankle, we tried adding tape to the floor boards to help the toe side while pressing the gas pedal. That helped, I tried my brace, that did not. Will keep trying. One other bright spot came during the Fast trophy dash. When the second year driver Gerald Nash won. Gerald is a neighbor of my nephew Robby it is very nice to see a newcomer advance. Our next race will next Saturday night the 29th
